Dear Valentine initially started with a heartbreak. I had my first relationship in January and was looking forward to Valentine's day. However, things didn't go too well. My boyfriend and I ended up going on a break around this time.

Things got better eventually though.

I felt so alone on Valentine's. I was so angry and I desperately wanted to hate him. I was torn between my affection for him and my need to hate him for how he treated me. All these conflicting feelings translated into this photoshoot concept.

Violence and love was the driving concept behind this photoshoot. Feelings of love contrasting with the acts of violence reflects the inner turmoil I went through around this time of my life. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin. Even though at first glance, the two concepts may be at odds at each other but one leads to another; love can easily lead to hate & violence if abused.

"Oh you never seem to notice that my heart beats for you. So, I'll open you up and make yours beat for me too"
